It was the kind of party that required eight hours, two outfits, a lot of early 90s music, dirty feet, ridiculous dance moves, and a few bottles of wine- or vodka, whatever works.

mr blue bird
No better way to put a smile on your face than some free falafel on library mall on your way to the terrace to soak up some sun... and do hw, but that's besides the point.

resilience
I've always have found it amazing last year that every sunday morning my phone would be in my purse. Sure waaay to many uncessasry phone calls had been made the night before, but how was it that sometimes i could not remember the order of events, but i never managed to misplace my trusty link to the world?
Well- It all came crashing down on my Sunday morning when i finally for real lost my phone. I figured that was only a minor repercussion for a ridiculous sat night. I excepted it and started looking online for a new one...
When i got home from the longest day of my life sunday at 1030..work 7 hours..then three hours of interviews...still with the sense of extreme nausea- My roomate smiled and tossed me my phone. SAY WHAT?!
she contacted the guy we knew at the party, he contacted the guy he knew who's house it was... that guy told all his roomates.... and one of them had found a phone while cleaning.
Back for round 2 baby.

Frustration
What do you do when someone tells you they don't want to go to an info session to represent @ because they feel that they would be part of falsly advertising AIESEC Madison?

simple exercise brings illumination
Task. Take a minute to look at the "@ experience" and jot down where you fall in the floatchart, think about what's up next for you.
Okay, piece of cake.....
As I started to jot down the past year of my existence -drawing in my little arrows making my "@ experience thus far" come to life on my half sheet of scratch paper, I came to one simple conclusion. I need to go on an exchange. Soon.
My previous plans of spending all of next year doing study abroad still loomed in the back of my mind and I was left to ponder. Over the past two weeks I've been hearing a lot of exchange vs. study abroad remarks being tossed around...and I think my study abroad plans i think are crumbling?
It hurts my head trying to figure out what to do and where to go... I want to be fluent in spanish and there for want to study abroad in s.america, but if i did a trainee ship- i think i'd want to do one in Turkey, or in Africa? UAE?
I think i need some guidance...

poor choices
Each year, about 5% of undergraduates are involved with the police or campus security as a restult of their drinking.
Not a statistic i'm proud to be part of.

*sigh*
It's over and I am happy..... smooth sailing until the end, but hey-- shit happens. I hope the community and the all the @ers who helped and stopped by enjoyed themselves and had some good conversations with people.
My favorite part? Seeing two parents with their baby, an old couple, and college students all together experiencing the same thing. That's what i wanted- community.

soo weird
Such a weird schedule I have these days.... so i work at the front desk of ogg this year. It's a cake job where i get paid decent to do my homework. Downside? It's open 24 hours- and I have to work an overnight shift for the entire semester- every thursday night from 1am-7am. All new desk staff have to have an overnight shift their first semester of working unless they have really early classes. I got really upset when i found out i had to do it....but tonight's the second time i'm doing it..and it's not that bad. I went to bed at 930 (soo weird) woke up at 1230...had a large coffee..and went to work..sooo strange. So I didn't have reading or hw to keep me from going to bed at 930 because i knew i'd have 6 HOURS to do it at the desk. I only have one class at 11 on fridays- so it's not thaaaat bad, but i really wonder how this is going to pan out this semester. Especially tomorrow since I won't be going back to bed after class...int'l carnival anyone?
so yea- i can't get over how weird this is and how out of character this is for me. I value my sleep sooo much and I always have normal(ish) schedule...so yea. this is weird.

Revamp
was my favorite word I used during my captain days on the tennis team in high school. Down a set? Revamp. All three doubles teams lost? Singles revamp and let's make the win. Double fault? Revamp. Lost your last match? Revamp baby revamp.
Today I got the same feeling all over again... good discussion, student org fair tomorrow, flyering for int'l carnival, sara's back, first gmm on wednesday, TRAINEE TOMORROW, reception to follow, huge ass event friday.... AIESEC Madison is on a high- can you feel it?
Summer is over. Revamp ladies and gents- we got one hell of a semester coming our way.
